Two-Year Cap on New International Student Study Permits Introduced

2024年1月22日，加拿大移民部对新学习许可申请实施为期两年的全国性上限，预计2024年约批准36万个许可（较2023年下降约35%）。学习许可申请还须附省/地区认证信；硕士、博士及中小学学生豁免。

On January 22, 2024, IRCC introduced a national intake cap on new study permit applications for two years, expected to yield about 360,000 approved permits in 2024 (down ~35%). Applications also require a provincial/territorial attestation letter; master's, doctoral and K-12 students were exempt.
